Since its creation in 1970, Earth Day has become a landmark date, turning into a worldwide celebration that gathers more than a BILLION people around the globe. It’s conceived as a day of action to change human behavior and create global, national, and local policy changes. Numerous events will take place during this week, from virtual concerts to global conferences. But, as people come together in this unifying day, we believe this should also be a time for reflection. As a global society, we need to confront ourselves and change if we want to save Planet Earth.
TAKE ACTION
The World Sustainability Organization is eager to join this movement. We are a Non-Governative Organization whose aim is to protect critical habitats and endangered species by means of the sustainability certifications Friend of the Sea & Friend of the Earth, along with conservation and awareness projects. We believe sustainability is one of the most important tools we have. Adopting sustainable practices means producing what we need without compromising natural resources, habitats, and other species that live on our planet. Also, preserving the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. These actions can have a significant impact to restore our planet and build more inclusive societies.
EMBRACE SUSTAINABILITY
This is why we decided to work side by side with companies and consumers, supporting them in the path to more sustainable practices. It’s the goal behind our eco-friendly labels.
Friend of the Earth is an international certification scheme for sustainable agriculture and breeding that has been developed within the guidelines of the Sustainability Assessment of Food and Agriculture Systems (SAFA) of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and whose principles are based on the safeguarding and protection of the entire ecosystem.
Friend of the Sea has become the leading sustainable seafood certification standard for products and services which respect and protect the marine environment. The certification awards sustainable practices in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Fishmeal, and Omega 3 Fish Oil. Friend of the Sea also promotes pilot projects related to restaurants, sustainable shipping, whale and dolphin-watching, aquaria, ornamental fish, UV creams, and others. Nevertheless, our work goes beyond sustainability into a regenerative approach. Thus, by means of our certifications, the World Sustainability Organization supports conservation projects to save endangered species and endangered habitats around the globe. If you would like to join this movement, you can apply to the certifications or buy products that have our logo. This way, you’ll be supporting not only sustainable practices but also conservation projects to restore our planet.
Let’s celebrate Earth Day by taking action into our own hands.
