De acordo com a Uni\u00e3o Mundial para a conserva\u00e7\u00e3o da Natureza (IUCN), a It\u00e1lia \u00e9 o Pa\u00eds europeu que possui a maior variedade de borboletas, cerca de 60% do total de esp\u00e9cies presentes no continente, das quais 4% est\u00e3o, infelizmente, amea\u00e7adas de extin\u00e7\u00e3o por causa de pr\u00e1ticas de agricultura intensiva que amea\u00e7am os seus habitats naturais, al\u00e9m das consequ\u00eancias das altera\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas.<\/p>\n

Friend of the Earth, juntamente com a Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Polyxena<\/a>, criou a campanha \u201cVamos salvar as borboletas da It\u00e1lia\u201d. O projeto visa proteger determinadas esp\u00e9cies vulner\u00e1veis de borboletas atrav\u00e9s da sua reprodu\u00e7\u00e3o em locais reservados e a subsequente reinser\u00e7\u00e3o na natureza. A reprodu\u00e7\u00e3o em locais reservados junto a Farfalia, a Casa das Borboletas situada no Jardim Bot\u00e2nico \u201cLama degli ulivi\u201d em Monopoli (Bari), onde se realiza todo o ciclo, desde a deposi\u00e7\u00e3o dos ovos sobre as plantas at\u00e9 ao primeiro bater de asas e \u00e0 consequente libera\u00e7\u00e3o na natureza. Os visitantes de Farfalia s\u00e3o envolvidos em atividades educacionais e podem participar ativamente e monitorizar o estado do projeto e a liberta\u00e7\u00e3o das borboletas. Desde a abertura em junho de 2016, Farfalia hospedou diversas esp\u00e9cies de borboletas, incluindo: Zerynthia cassandra, Melanargia arge, Hipparchia sborodonii e Charaxes jasius. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Os avistamentos ser\u00e3o catalogados e inseridos no mapa das borboletas da It\u00e1lia. O recenseamento das borboletas permitir\u00e1 sensibilizar as administra\u00e7\u00f5es locais quanto \u00e0 necessidade de proteger o territ\u00f3rio.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

A Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Polyxena<\/a>\u00a0opera no Sul da It\u00e1lia para a prote\u00e7\u00e3o da biodiversidade atrav\u00e9s da investiga\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica, da educa\u00e7\u00e3o ambiental e do turismo sustent\u00e1vel. Em junho de 2016, a associa\u00e7\u00e3o abriu Farfalia, A Casa das Borboletas cujos objetivos s\u00e3o aumentar o conhecimento sobre algumas esp\u00e9cies de borboletas nativas amea\u00e7adas de extin\u00e7\u00e3o, identificar os elementos de amea\u00e7a e encontrar medidas de prote\u00e7\u00e3o adequadas para evitar o seu desaparecimento, fornecendo uma ferramenta inovadora para a educa\u00e7\u00e3o ambiental.<\/p>\n

Este projeto tamb\u00e9m tem o importante objetivo de experimentar a cria\u00e7\u00e3o de esp\u00e9cies amea\u00e7adas de extin\u00e7\u00e3o como Zerynthia polyxena <\/em>e Melanargia arge<\/em> para a libera\u00e7\u00e3o na natureza, apresentando uma importante aplica\u00e7\u00e3o potencial em futuros projetos de repovoamento. Na verdade, as borboletas produzidas ser\u00e3o parcialmente liberadas em ambientes adequados \u00e0 sua presen\u00e7a, sendo que a outra parte vai permanecer na estrutura para garantir a sucess\u00e3o de gera\u00e7\u00f5es ao longo do tempo. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

A Casa das borboletas consiste numa estrutura de 90 m2<\/sup>\u00a0no interior da qual \u00e9 recriado um habitat com vegeta\u00e7\u00e3o mediterr\u00e2nea, ideal para a reprodu\u00e7\u00e3o de borboletas aut\u00f3ctones. A estrutura \u00e9 projetada para proteger as plantas e borboletas de predadores, parasitas e agentes atmosf\u00e9ricos e para evitar a fuga de lagartas e borboletas. <\/p>\n

O povoamento inicial foi realizado com esp\u00e9cimes na fase larval, minimizando o impacto nas popula\u00e7\u00f5es amostradas. As esp\u00e9cies consideradas incluem as mais comuns e as amea\u00e7adas de extin\u00e7\u00e3o em \u00e2mbito europeu devido a amea\u00e7as como a subtra\u00e7\u00e3o e fragmenta\u00e7\u00e3o de habitats, altera\u00e7\u00f5es no uso do solo ou mudan\u00e7as clim\u00e1ticas.<\/p>\n

Durante a atividade de amostragem foram coletados os dados para a monitoriza\u00e7\u00e3o das popula\u00e7\u00f5es.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

At\u00e9 hoje, cerca de 27 esp\u00e9cies diferentes de borboletas foram hospedadas em diferentes est\u00e1gios de desenvolvimento. Muitas destas esp\u00e9cies, incluindo esp\u00e9cimes de Gonepteryx cleopatra<\/em>,\u00a0Artogeia rapae<\/em>,\u00a0Papilio machaon<\/em>,\u00a0Pieris brassicae,<\/em>\u00a0completaram todo o seu ciclo de vida dentro da Casa.<\/p>\n

Al\u00e9m de fornecer um valioso apoio \u00e0 investiga\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica para fornecer um conhecimento mais preciso dos Lepidoptera da Puglia, este projeto tamb\u00e9m inclui a divulga\u00e7\u00e3o ambiental com o envolvimento dos cidad\u00e3os.<\/p>\n

Na verdade, a Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Polyxena iniciou um programa de monitoriza\u00e7\u00e3o das popula\u00e7\u00f5es de Lepidoptera na Reserva Natural \u201cLago di Conversano e Gravina di Monsignore\u201d que prev\u00ea a participa\u00e7\u00e3o dos visitantes.
